I am currently a teacher librarian and building webmaster in Platte County R-3 School District in Platte City, Missouri (near the Kansas City airport). I am also Chairperson of the GKCR Reading Award for the Greater Kansas City School Association of Librarians. I work as a contributing writer for the KU Economic Center's Economics Apptivities for K-12. I’ve trained as instructional coach and presented for Teaching That Makes Sense, Center for School Reform, International Reading Association, and the Write to Learn Conference in Columbia, Missouri, supervised student teachers for William Jewell College, and served as lesson and unit evaluator for PAEMST (Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching). My passions are: facilitating students through in-depth investigations that connect to real life, formatively assessing to improve my teaching craft, and for students to self assess their own progress toward their goals.
